Pictured on the right is Katie Kirkpatrick . A 21 years old cancer victim. Next to her is her fiance, Nick, 23. The picture was taken shortly before their wedding which was held on January 11, 2005. Katie has terminal cancer and like other cancer victim she has to go through many sessions of Chemo. And in the picture her fiance is seen waiting for her on one of the many sessions.
Due to her constant weight loss, her wedding dress had to be adjusted a few times. "In spite of all the pain, organ failures, and morphine shots, Katie is going along with her wedding and took care of every detail."
As seen in the picture, Katie had to use an oxygen tube throughout the ceremony and reception. Nick's parents is shown in the picture.

During the reception, Katie had to take breaks due to the pain which wouldn't allow her to freely stand up for long hours.
"Katie died five days after her wedding day. Watching a woman so ill and weak getting married and with a smile on her face makes us think...Happiness is reachable, no matter how long it last. We should stop making our lives complicated."

Although it's a sad story, it helps us realize how important love is in life. Even for a short moment, truly being in love is the greatest blessing one could have.
