Thursday was a relaxing day. I didn't do much but spend time with the family. No turkey this year. Turkey has never been out thing.
On Friday, I went to a Feed The Homeless event that a group of friends always managed to put together every Thanksgiving. It's always a rewarding experience to see these individuals volunteerly put in hours of hard work to give back...uhmm that includes me minus all the preparation + cooking + cleaning...etc.
Here's a glimpse at what went on in the kitchen. I cut off all the 'heads' since it wouldn't be appropriate to show the ladies & gentlemen in the kitchen munching on foods now...would it? I guess they need some calories boost before feeding the homeless O_o

There were Music, Dancing...

and Games....
Among gift cards, there were also bags of foods and goodies that was prepared before hands by all the lovely and wonderful ppl. I'm glad to called friends <3

ReplyDeletethat's so rockstar, you getting together to do the food drive deals, i did those for two years. this is the first year I didn't do it. but it really is rewarding. so kudos to you and your girls. very very cool.
and omg tofu hot pot, theee bomb... is that BCD Tofu House...mmmm
and i love S.Antonio Winery, I have a friend that works there =)
That's such a great thing you and your friends did for Thanksgiving! I've always wanted to do something like that but haven't yet. I think I will next year.
ReplyDeleteYou have such beautiful eyes! They really pop out of the pics.
Girl, Mitsuwa was HELLA crowded...I think that's why I was there so long! It was hard to push a cart through the skinny aisles, and then if I paused to look at something I'd have to move so someone else could go by.
My nephew is 12. He's mixed so his mom doesn't take him to Asian stores, but he loves anime, manga, and Asian food & snacks so it was like Japanese heaven for him...and me too! hehe
Oh but I've decided I'll definitely be going to Pink's pow wow so I can't wait to meet you there! I just have to figure out what I'm going to wear.
Yah I decided Japanese goodies would make good prizes 'cause I feel bad when I post my Japanese buys & people tell me they don't have a Mitsuwa etc. Also most of the stuff is under $20 so it's easier to give away more prizes than just one or two expensive prizes.
But I am letting people pick other prizes that are under $20, like UDPP or something they want instead of Japanese things.
So I hope you enter! =)
I recently came accross your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I dont know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.
